Presented in Venice during the 2021 Architecture Biennale, Striatus is the first-of-its-kind 3D Concrete Printed bridge. Designed by Block Research Group and Zaha Hadid Architects in collaboration with incremental3D, it is made possible by Holcim's custom-made TectorPrint ink. Striatus establishes a new language for concrete that is digital, environmentally advanced and circular by design. The footbridge holds together solely through compression, with no reinforcements, applying computational design and 3D printing, for minimal material use and maximum strength.
we're excited about striatus because it establishes a new language for concrete that is digital environmentally advanced and circular by design striatus with its smart design holds together solely through compression it really uses concrete at its best with no reinforcements no glues no binders it uses the minimal amount of material for maximum strength 3d printing opens up a world of possibilities all the way from complex infrastructure projects to affordable housing we can reduce up to 70 percent of materials with no compromise on performance that is a breakthrough from a sustainability perspective and that for me is building progress [Music] you
