LafargeHolcim launches "The Plants of Tomorrow” to further boost the efficiency of industrial operations and to prevent issues before they occur.
[Music] I'm Solomon Baumgartner head of cement manufacturing my name is Philip and I work on digital topics across the partial sum plant of tomorrow is basically future proving our plants or in other words making industry 4.0 reality we're one of the largest industrial networks of the world they have 50,000 people working our overturned and 70 plants across the globe and we believe that we want to be even more focused on manufacturing topics when it comes to open innovation we have four blocks that we approach that the first one is a collection where we use the T is system then we look at predictive models for maintenance quality and operations or process improvements and then we look at automation mainly for high risks and I labor-intensive our job sites and then in parallel we are having learning modules to help people in these times of transition we really need to source the best technology out there and that's where maker can be our portal to the open ecosystem of innovators to bring their ideas into practice here in the past we are now reviewing our pain points that we have in the plant bottom up in every single country on those topics that come out we will reach out to the open ecosystem find exciting technology and put them in practice in a short test to validate that they can be part of the Fantom tomorrow program sick and tall is our flagship plant so right now we have roughly 30 proof of concepts ongoing so this will be the plant we really want to test all the models which we have we expect a plant to do 15 to 20 percent better after we have implemented all those technologies it's a great opportunity for us a company with this huge footprint to really get the best technologies out there to wrap the testing and then roll it out across the group together with our colleagues from cement excellence benefit you
